Myeloid leukemia is a type of cancer that primarily affects the myeloid blood cells. In patients with this condition, white blood cells increase at extraordinary rates and 
work their way to the bone marrow. This impairs the body’s ability to produce normal blood cells. Although a relatively rare condition, myeloid leukemia is responsible for more than 1.2 % of all cancer-related deaths in the U.S. every year.
Myeloid leukemia patients undergoing radiation and chemotherapy may benefit from marijuana use in moderate amounts. With the help of marijuana, patients will be better able to tolerate the effects of treatment.
