Conjunctivitis is a condition marked by the swelling of the tissues in the eyelids. This can occur for any one of many reasons, including illness, infection, or allergy. Conjunctivitis may also be caused by a parasitic infection or a sexually transmitted disease. The condition is closely related to “pink eye”, which is a viral infection that affects the same eyelid lining.
Conjunctivitis can cause a great deal of discomfort and sometimes even pain. For some patients, the use of marijuana may be beneficial in reducing some of the discomfort associated with the condition.
