Friedreich's AtaxiaAlso known as hereditary spinal ataxia, Friedreich’s ataxia is a serious condition involving certain sections of the spinal cord. A form of sclerosis, the condition attacks the cord’s posterior and lateral sections. The condition occurs most often in children, and it can spread to the other limbs and eventually cause paralysis and contraction.

With medical marijuana use, patients with Friedreich’s ataxia may experience greater mobility and range of movement. At the very least, marijuana can ease the pain caused by the condition.
